 CIVILIANS

Welcome to the Civilians page of the Fighting First Regiment!!!

The Fighting First Regiment is a family oriented organization, and as such civilians are welcomed in camp. We have diverse collection of civilian portrayals within the Regiment. Those include cooks, nurses, wives and children of the fighting men, displaced persons, and camp visitors. We are always open to new ideas and new impressions to strengthen our recreation of the past.

Many of us are civilian members of the Fighting First because of family or friends that belong. There are many others who simply have a deep love of the Civil War period and an interest in the myriad customs that go with it. For whatever our reasons, we remember the past and revere it.

All civilian members of the Fighting First Regiment have available a support network that can and will help improve their impressions. We strive to portray with our impressions the lives of civilians during the Civil War.

We wish to encourage those new to the hobby so that they may grow with their impression.

We have five main goals for the Fighting First Regiment Civilians.
1. Maintain an accurate civilian impression in a military setting.
2. Share knowledge and information with other civilians.
3. Provide support for the military part of the Regiment.
4. Maintain the Fighting First Regiment camps at all times to further complete the impression of the period we recreate.
5. And, most importantly, to have fun and enjoy the company of good friends.

This web site is a way to share the knowledge that we have with others so that they, too, may enjoy what we do.

Whether you are a seasoned re-enactor or new to the hobby, you can find a place with the Fighting First Regiment. Above all we wish to promote a family atmosphere in which all may have fun and enjoy the company of others. We want to have a chance to meet new people and enjoy the company of old friends.

Please feel free to contact us with any questions, or for further information.

Sincerely,

Catherine Kelly
