The Fighting First Regiment's READING LIST

Fe I have compiled the list below for the civil war enthusiast wanting to broaden his or her knowledge of the Civil War.  My criteria for inclusion was to focus on those titles that can help reenactors the most in their uniform, drill, and Confederate Army research, rather than trying to be comprehensive, which would be impossible considering the sheer number of works that have been published over the past 139 years on the subject.

Official Records of the War of the Rebellion, 70 volumes bound in 128 parts and a two-part atlas, Washington: U.S. Government Printing Office, 1880-1901 (available commercially on CD-ROM).

The Southern Historical Society Papers, 52 Volumes(cloth), indexed, beginning in 1962, 1876-1959 (available commercially on CD-ROM).
